What's Happening

Certified Pet Care Technicians
Jennifer, Megan, Jeannette, Jessica, Natalie and Melissa all took and passed the Certification for Pet Care Technician. Congratulations!

The new fence
Even though your dogs have had a wonderful time watching the squirrels take their nuts from the trees and bury them in the landscaping over the years, we could not stand it anymore. The new fence is up and we love it.

Adoption of Puppy Mill survivors
So, in Missouri, they passed some great laws to help regulate puppy mills during this last election. They have actually written in the laws that the dogs must have food, water, vet care, shelter and the kicker - exercise. They have also put a limit on the number of dogs these mills can have. Many puppy mills are shutting down and dumping the "parents" anywhere they can.

We are taking in 4 such parents. last week, they were at a vet in Missouri being spayed, vaccinated and tested for any illnesses that need treated. They are around 4 years old. We're taking in 3 Chinese Crested PowerPuffs and one Chihuahua / Terrier mix. All female. If you know of someone looking for a adult little dog send them our way. Maybe some day, Indiana will embrace such a law.

By the way - ALL the dogs we take in to foster are housed at our veterinarian and completely checked over before coming to Lucky Dog Retreat.

Other stuff

We are closed for regular daycare on Thanksgiving and Christmas Day. Our boarders over the holiday still get daycare, but we run with minimum staff and aren't able to answer the door, phone and ring out customers.

Members: Please let us know when you aren't coming in - for holidays and for bad weather. Thanks!
