What's Happening

It was a tough month for foster dogs. Seemed like the last dogs we've pulled couldn't catch a break. With the bad economy, more and more dogs are getting heartworm. Funny, you hardly worry about it anymore with all the preventative medicines out there today. But 2 dogs have had heartworm, 2 others had worrisome tumors, and the most recent came down with Parvo shortly after leaving the shelter. To be safe, we take the dogs from the pound to our vet until they're found to be healthly. CoCo broke with Parvo while at the vet and has completely recovered.

Derby - 3-5 year old black lab, mammary tumors, bad hip
Sheba - 2 year old collie mix, huge mass by her hip
Lucy - 15 pounds underweight, heartworm positive
Buddy - eye infection in both eyes.

Vet bills for May 2011 = $3,127.60
Income from adoptions = $1400.00
Difference = $1727.60
Donations raised so far = $800.00

If you would like to donate, 100% of the donations go to pay our vet bills.

Other stuff

Summer is here. We'll be busy most the summer and weekends will fill up too. We try to cater to our regular customers so please, send in your reservations as early as possible. If you're not sure on the exact dates, give us something close and adjust it as the time get's closer.
